I made my last cupcakes for a while!

I am happy to report that the Cupcake's 4 Cure fundraiser was a GREAT success. For this being our first fundraising experience we certainly learned a lot but had a fun time with the ups and the lumps. I hope everyone that had a cupcake thoroughly enjoyed the experience of eating a scrumptious delight. Now the returns on all our hard work…drum roll please…

Number of people contacted about the fundraiser: ~100

Total number of orders for scrumptious cupcakes: 75

Number of cupcakes made: 600+

Total money raised (from sales and donations): $551

Goal: $3,900

Money still needed: $3,173.00

I want to thank everyone that helped make this fundraiser a success. A special shout out to our container hook up (you know who you are). I want to thank all my friends and family for their constant support and sticking by me when the muffin tops kept rising. To all my taste testers a big Gracias. I would also like to thank Bob Piercy, Jr. for changing my life by choosing to live his.

GREAT NEWS!!!

As many of you may or may not know, I have signed up to run a half marathon(you heard me right!) but not only that- I will be traveling as well. Where?? Seattle, Washington to be exact. The race is called the Rock and Roll Marathon (or 1/2). But wait there's even more....more you say?...Yes, more! I will be part of Team in Training from now until the day of the race which will be June 27, 2009. I am super psyched to take on this challenge of running but also raising the funds for a worthy cause. I need to raise a minimum $3,900 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This Saturday I will get to meet my survivor buddy and will keep you all updated here. You can read and follow me as I train and also collect funds on this journey. It will have the latest fund raising adventure my team has come up with plus a lot more. You will also find my fund raising page below (y'all knew it was coming). I can't accomplish my goal with out YOU! Any amount would be appreciated:). I along with my fund raising team (y'all know who you are) have started to think about new, fun and inventive ways to raise all this cash (any ideas would be appreciated and welcomed). I am really excited and confident I can reach my goal. Who would have thought that a couple of runs last summer in Wisconsin Dells with my uncle and cousin would lead to this? Ask and you shall receive.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog and any support you are able to contribute with (in any form).

Cupcake's 4 Cure

With Valentine's Day (February 14th) right around the corner my team and I decided that the best way to kick off our fund raising adventure is by delving deeper into something we know...CUPCAKES!!! Over the years, our palates have matured to recognize the difference between a good cupcake and a scrumptious cupcake. If you would like to know what a scrumptious cupcake tastes like while at same time helping me raise funds for a great cause then here is your chance. Wet your palate by placing your order of a bundle of six cupcakes at the low price of $5.00 per bundle. These cupcakes are great to give to friends, family or the mailman plus at this price you can't find a better deal in this City. All proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Please place your orders no later than Wednesday, February 11th via email at andrade.idalia@gmail.com or by giving me call. Thank you and happy ordering!
